Togo Expands Universal Health Insurance Access with New Local Offices

Togo is opening more local service offices under its universal health insurance program (AMU). The National Health Insurance Institute (INAM) and the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), which administer the program, recently opened new offices at several healthcare facilities in Greater Lomé. Services at health centers The new offices are open at Dogta-Lafiè Hospital and at community health centers in Adétikopé, Agoè, Ségbé, Adidogomé, Djidjolé, Agoè Démakpoè and Baguida. They serve members of both insurance schemes. Members can obtain information, submit documents, file complaints and grievances, and handle some paperwork for prior authorization and chronic care. The offices complement both institutions’ efforts to move services online. In April 2026, INAM launched a platform that allows users to apply for registration online and track their applications, among other services. Gradually expanding coverage AMU began operating in January 2024. INAM and CNSS administer the program, which is gradually expanding to cover more groups.
