Following Anyim's arrest, police operatives, in collaboration with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agwa and his team, proceeded to the suspected hideout in Ubah Agwa. Upon arrival, the security forces encountered armed resistance, with the occupants of the hideout opening fire. Other items seized from the location comprised one hand grenade, various ATM cards believed to belong to different victims, multiple denominations of currency featuring Biafran inscriptions, foreign currencies, enlarged photographs of an unidentified person, and various objects suspected to be ritual materials.
