Cameroon Government: Notifies 43 Contractors Over CFA1.5 Billion in Abandoned Public Contr

Cameroon has given 43 contractors 21 days to resume or complete abandoned public contracts worth more than CFA1.5 billion across the Adamawa, Far North and West regions, the latest government action against a persistent problem in the execution of public projects. Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Public Contracts Ibrahim Talba Malla issued the deadline in a notice signed Aug. 6, 2026. Based on the list attached to the notice, the contracts concerned have a combined calculated value of more than CFA1.5 billion. The companies were identified because they had “abandoned the execution of at least one contract” during the 2023, 2024 or 2025 budget years. The ministry has instructed the contractors either to resume or complete the work and report back, or to provide supporting documents that could justify their removal from the list.
