Hilton Yaoundé Renovation: CFA5 Billion in Design, Advisory, Financing Costs

Cameroon Hotels Corporation (CHC) could spend up to CFA5.13 billion, including taxes, on the design, supervision, advisory and financing services associated with the renovation of the Hilton Yaoundé complex, even before the cost of the construction work itself is taken into account. The amount combines three separate operations: an estimated CFA4.096 billion for a full project design and supervision contract, CFA787.7 million for project-owner assistance and up to CFA250 million to structure the financing. The CFA5.13 billion does not represent the renovation budget. It covers professional services intended to design, manage and finance the project. The final amount will depend in part on the outcome of the tender for project design and supervision, whether the conditional portion of the assistance contract is activated and how much debt CHC ultimately raises.
