According to Church President Samuel Kajoba, the church had engaged government officials over concerns about the timing of the exercise, particularly because it conflicted with the Adventist Sabbath. The initial arrangement would have required cleaning activities during the Sabbath, which is observed from Friday evening to Saturday evening. This posed a dilemma for the church, as its members are expected to adhere to their faith's teachings.

The church's decision to observe National Cleaning Day on the last Sunday of every month is not just a matter of convenience but also a reflection of its commitment to respecting government guidelines. Church leaders held discussions with government officials, including the Prime Minister, over the matter and received assurances that the religious practices of Adventists would be respected. The church's engagement with the government has been ongoing, with President Kajoba stating that they had taken 'a lot of time in engagement' with the Prime Minister to resolve the issue. The outcome was a compromise that allowed the church to participate in the cleaning exercise while maintaining its religious practices.

The programme was adjusted from 9:00am to 10:00am to ensure compliance with government movement guidelines and minimize potential misunderstandings between Adventists and security personnel. Church President Kajoba emphasized the importance of demonstrating respect for lawful government directives while maintaining the church's tradition of discipline, cooperation, and respect for authorities. The adjustments are intended to promote a harmonious relationship between the church and the government.
