They argued that the video's content, in which convicts in the murder case claim to have committed the crime while working for Islam, is malicious and deliberately intended to link the crime to the faith. The caucus deputy imam, Mp Hassan Kirumira, stated that 'Islam is a religion of peace' and emphasized that it does not condone killing. He questioned why the convicts were dressed in Islamic attire when presented in court, suggesting that this was an attempt to create a false impression.

The caucus has called on the government to investigate those responsible for circulating the video and establish the circumstances under which it was released. They have also asked the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) to order the removal of the video from social media platforms, citing its inciting nature and potential to inflame religious tensions. The MPs argued that the footage should be part of the court record or evidence and questioned how it came to be circulated publicly. This raises questions about the handling of sensitive information by law enforcement agencies and the courts.

The leaked video has sparked concerns among Muslim leaders in Uganda, who fear that it may lead to Islamophobia and further polarize the community.
