Nigerian Fintech Grey Expands Direct Transfers to Cameroon's Mobile Money

Nigerian fintech Grey has opened a new payment corridor into Cameroon, allowing users to send CFA francs directly to MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money wallets from balances held in dollars, euros or British pounds. The company announced the service in a September 7, 2026 update. Grey converts the funds into CFA francs when the transfer takes place. The fintech has extended the same service to Rwanda, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire. In Cameroon, Grey charges $1.80 per transaction and says transfers are completed “almost instantly.” Users can send between CFA500 and CFA400,000 in a single transaction. The Cameroon offer differs from Grey’s services in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire, where recipients can also receive money in bank accounts.
