National Firearms Act Injunction Partially Granted in Texas Federal Court

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A federal court in Texas partially granted a firearm foundation’s motion for summary judgment challenging the National Firearms Act. The challenge comes after Congress eliminated taxes on transferring and making short-barreled shotguns, short-barreled rifles, silencers and another covered group of miscellaneous firearms. The court concludes that plaintiffs are entitled to a permanent injunction against the challenged provisions, but not declaratory relief.
