Egypt, Cisco Sign AI Cooperation Agreement for National Digital Initiatives

Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (CIT) and Cisco Systems signed a letter of intent to implement national digital initiatives and support Egypts AI Strategy. The agreement focuses on expanding artificial intelligence (AI) applications across government and priority sectors to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and decision-making. It will also explore AI-driven initiatives to boost innovation, economic diversification, and productivity. The cooperation includes developing national AI capabilities through skills development, institutional capacity building, and wider adoption of AI technologies. Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said the government is committed to expanding digital initiatives and building young people’s technological capabilities to support digital transformation and improve government services. Communications and Information Technology Minister Raafat Hindi said the partnership will leverage Cisco’s global expertise to accelerate AI adoption, develop government services, promote innovation, and build specialised talent. Cisco Chairman and CEO Chuck Robbins said Egypt is moving forward with “a clear vision and firm ambition”, adding that Cisco will use its global expertise to help turn that ambition into “tangible national capabilities.”
