Cameroon Launches Tender for 60,000 Tons of Cooking Gas

Cameroon has launched a tender for 60,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to help cover domestic demand through the end of 2026, a large purchase that highlights the country’s continued dependence on imports despite local production. The tender, launched September 1, represents nearly 40% of the liquefied butane Cameroon imported during all of 2025. The government plans to divide the purchase into two lots of 35,000 and 25,000 tons. According to a statement signed by Okie Johnson Ndoh, chairman of the ad hoc Petroleum Products Import Commission (CIPP), the purchase is intended to “cover consumption needs for 2026.” Tender documents are available at the headquarters of the Hydrocarbon Price Stabilization Fund (CSPH) at Warda Junction in Yaoundé.
