Court also extended Todd Hill’s appointment as acting registrar until June 2027 The Supreme Court of Western Australia has appointed Simon Millman as a registrar of the court and extended Todd Hill’s appointment as acting registrar. Millman, who has served as an acting registrar since July 2025, became a permanent registrar of the Supreme Court on 1 October 2026. The appointment follows a legal and parliamentary career spanning private practice, Parliament, and the bar. Millman was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 2005. He then spent more than a decade working as a solicitor with a national law firm. He was elected to Parliament in 2017 and served two terms. After leaving Parliament, Millman returned to legal practice and joined the bar in 2024. He subsequently took up the position of acting registrar of the Supreme Court in July 2025. The court has also extended Hill’s appointment as an acting registrar until 30 June 2027. Hill has held the position since September 2025. Hill was admitted to practice in Western Australia and the High Court of Australia in March 2003. His legal career has included work in both private and public practice. His experience covers taxation and commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and corporate law. The extension means he will continue serving as an acting registrar alongside Millman in his permanent registrar position. Chief Justice Peter Quinlan welcomed both appointments on behalf of the Supreme Court and congratulated Millman and Hill on their continued roles. “We congratulate Registrar Millman and Acting Registrar Hill and look forward to their continued contributions to the Court,” Chief Justice Quinlan said in a statement . He said both registrars brought considerable experience and expertise to their positions and had demonstrated their value as members of the court’s registrar team. “Registrar Millman and Acting Registrar Hill bring considerable experience and expertise to their roles and have proven to be valuable members of the outstanding team of Registrars at the Court,” Chief Justice Quinlan said. “We are very pleased that the Court will continue to benefit from their knowledge and expertise.” Millman’s permanent appointment took effect on 1 October 2026, following more than a year as an acting registrar. Hill’s extended acting appointment will run until 30 June 2027.
