Texas A&M Professors and Union Sue Over Ban on Teaching Pro-LGBTQ+ Material

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit held that a Nevada federal court improperly blocked the Federal Trade Commission from collecting on more than $131 million in money judgments it obtained against Benjamin Hoskins and his wife Leanne Rodgers stemming from a telemarketing scam. The lower court incorrectly determined that Nevada’s six-year statute of limitations precluded the FTC from enforcing the judgments, but the Federal Debt Collection Procedure Act imposes no time limit for collecting debts owed to the federal government.
