The suit filed in the U.S. Southern District of New York against Ryan Asher, Roberta Asher and Asher & Associates was brought under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act as well as the New York City False Claims Act and the New York State False Claims Act. The city alleges in the complaint that the defendants repeatedly attributed injuries to defective municipal roadways despite other records indicating that car accidents, assaults or other events were to blame, according to a story by Law.com . The city claims that the firm could have committed hundreds if not thousands of racketeering acts over the past 10 years. Law.com said efforts to get comment from Ryan Asher and Roberta Asher went unanswered.
