Egypt Prepares for MOC 2026 to Promote Petroleum Sector Investment

Egypt is preparing to host the Mediterranean Offshore Conference and Exhibition (MOC 2026) in Alexandria from October 20 to 22, with the event expected to attract more than 10,000 participants and visitors from around the world. The conference aims to link international research and expertise with the needs and development plans of Egypt’s petroleum sector. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi reviewed the latest preparations for the conference, stressing its importance in showcasing developments and reforms in Egypt’s petroleum sector, promoting investment opportunities and benefiting from international expertise and modern technologies to support production and maximise added value. The first day will feature strategic sessions involving heads of international companies and global delegations, focusing on the current requirements and challenges facing the energy and gas industry, particularly in the Mediterranean region. Meanwhile, 338 scientific papers from 27 countries have been submitted for the conference, with around 84 selected for presentation across approximately 20 technical sessions. The conference will focus on transforming research and successful international experiences into practical solutions that can be implemented in Egypt. This year’s edition is also expected to feature more than 25 exhibiting companies, around 1,200 delegation members and government representatives from 15 countries, alongside participation from the SPE Egypt. The inaugural edition of the MOC conference was launched in 2000 and is held alternately between the cities of Alexandria and Ravenna, Italy, making it one of the most prominent specialized events on the international energy conference agenda.
