CFHEC Begins Procurement for Cameroon's Edéa-Kribi Road Project

China First Highway Engineering Co. Ltd. (CFHEC) has started procurement preparations less than a month after it secured the first section of the Edéa-Kribi road reconstruction project, an early documented sign of material mobilization for the CFA43.81 billion contract. On September 3, 2026, the Chinese company’s international division launched a tender in China for high-modulus additives and emulsifiers for a road project in Cameroon identified by the code “EK.” Bids are due by September 23. The procurement process comes four weeks after CFHEC was awarded Lot 1 of the N7 Edéa-Kribi road. In an August 6 decision, Cameroon’s Public Works Minister Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi selected the company to reconstruct 57 km between the Edéa/Kribi junction and the Bivouba bridge. The contract is worth CFA43.811 billion including taxes and has a 24-month completion period. The Chinese procurement notice therefore provides an initial documentary indication of the contractor’s material mobilization after the award.
