Cameroun Rallies Development Partners Behind 2030 Development Agenda

On July 29, Cameroon opened discussions with its development partners on a consultation framework to improve coordination around the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (NDS30).

The initiative aims to deepen the involvement of technical and financial partners in both the NDS30 and the government's main reform programs. This is expected to ensure that the programs supported by development partners are not implemented in isolation, but contribute more consistently to the same national objectives.

The consultation framework will define how parties consult one another, align their interventions with government priorities, and improve the overall coherence of support provided under the strategy. The document is still in its preparatory stages, reflecting a shared willingness to establish a more collaborative approach.

The NDS30 includes industrialization, agricultural modernization, stronger energy and transportation systems, and improved governance as key objectives. Cameroon's Economy, Planning and Regional Development Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey emphasized the importance of this initiative in achieving these goals through coordinated efforts with development partners.
