Regulatory Policy Committee opinion of the quality of the impact assessment for The British Steel Property Transfer and Modification of the Law Regulations 2026 Get emails about this page Documents RPC opinion: impact of British Steel Limited regulations HTML The proposal introduces two linked statutory instruments to transfer a steel company into public ownership: The British Steel Limited Property Transfer Regulations 2026 and The Modification of the Law (Transfer of British Steel Limited) Regulations 2026. The Regulatory Policy Committee (RPC) gave a ‘green’ rating to the impact assessment on 26 June 2026. This means that we considered it to be ‘fit for purpose’ based on our scrutiny of the evidence and analysis supporting the case for why regulation is necessary.
