NCA Ghana: Publishes Qualified 5G Spectrum License Applicants

September 9, 2026 The National Communications Authority (NCA) has completed the qualification stage of the Request for Applications for spectrum licences in the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz and 3 GHz bands. Of the four applications received by the submission deadline of 5:00 p.m. on 27th August 2026, three Applicants have qualified to proceed to the next stage of the selection process. The assessment comprised the Eligibility Review and Technical Qualification Assessment under Envelope A (Technical and Qualification Submission). In accordance with Section 3.3.2(4) of the Request for Applications, the Authority hereby publishes the list of Qualified and Non-qualified Applicants. Qualified Applicants 1. Scancom Plc (MTN Ghana) 2. Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited (Telecel Ghana) 3. Goal Telecommunications Ltd Non-qualified Applicant All Applicants have been duly informed of the Authority’s determination in respect of their applications, with reasons provided where applicable. Only the Qualified Applicants will proceed to Stage 3 of the selection process. Accordingly, the Envelope B submitted by the Non-qualified Applicant will not be opened. Qualified Applicants will be notified separately of the date, time and venue for the opening and ranking of their Best Price Offers.
