Throughout the year, the IURC conducts a variety of meetings, from field hearings to forums, that are open to the public and subject to the Open Door Law. Some meetings, such as the Commission’s weekly conference, are recurring while others are topical or tied to a particular case and are more intermittent. This webpage includes information on the types of public meetings conducted by the Commission, as well as ways to get involved. Find out which meetings are live streamed by viewing our Watch Live page. Below is information related to non-docketed public meetings held by the Commission, in accordance with the Open Door Law (Ind. Code chapter 5-14-1.5). The public is welcome to attend and observe these meetings. Hearings in Docketed Cases For information on hearings held in docketed cases by the Commission, click the link below. Scheduled hearings can also be found within each separate case in the Commission’s Online Services Portal. In cases that require a public field hearing, those details can be found in the IURC Newsroom. Weekly conference is a recurring meeting, generally held on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., in which matters are brought before the full Commission for vote or consideration. Agendas are posted 48 hours in advance and can be found by clicking the link below. Underground Plant Protection Advisory Committee (UPPAC) UPPAC was established by law to act in an advisory capacity to the Commission concerning the implementation and enforcement of the damage to underground facilities law. The committee meets monthly at the Indiana 811 office. Click here to find media releases and advisories issued by the Commission. Executive sessions, authorized by state law, are held by the Commission for the purpose of deliberating upon and discussing the prospective final order. Minutes for Commission executive sessions, as described in Indiana Code section 5-14-1.5-6.1(b) and Indiana Code section 8-1-1-5(f), are listed below. While these meetings are closed to the public, notice must be given in accordance with the Open Door Law.
