EPZA Wins Awards at Meru and Machakos National Shows

The Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) has been recognized for its outstanding performance in various national shows. At the Meru National Show, EPZA won the award for the best small trade stand in the commercial and industrial category. This achievement is a testament to the Authority's commitment to excellence and innovation. The win at Meru was followed by another triumph at the Machakos National Show, where EPZA emerged as the winner of the stand that best interpreted the show theme in non-agro based and financial industry categories. These awards are a significant milestone for EPZA, demonstrating its ability to adapt and excel in different contexts.

As part of its inward-bound investment promotion activities, EPZA hosted the first-ever EPZA Youth Forum at EPZ Athi River. The forum provided a platform for engagement between government agencies, EPZ enterprises, and the youth, focusing on sharing information on trade and investment promotion and facilitation. The event was graced by high-profile guests, including Mr. Fikirini Jacobs, Principal Secretary, State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, and Mr. Richard Cheruiyot, Board Chairman, EPZA. The forum presented opportunities for the youth to connect with representatives from EPZ enterprises, fostering mentorship, internship, and employment prospects.

EPZA has been actively engaged in community development initiatives, particularly in the areas of education and social welfare. As part of its efforts to support the #Endperiodpovertycampaign, three EPZ enterprises – New Wide Garments EPZ Limited, Royal Garments Industries, and Container Technology Limited (CONTECH) – donated sanitary towels and cash to help combat period poverty among school-going girls. This gesture is a significant step towards promoting menstrual hygiene and education, aligning with the campaign's objectives.
