Lower Global Coffee Prices Cut Cameroon’s Export Revenue 17.6% in Q1 2026

Cameroon's coffee export revenue fell 17.6% year over year to CFA4.1 billion ($7.1 million) in the first quarter of 2026 as global arabica and robusta prices retreated after the sharp increases recorded in 2025. Preliminary trade data cited in the National Economic and Financial Council's (CNEF) latest economic report show coffee underperformed several other agricultural exports. Shipments of raw cotton, bananas, and household soap posted gains, while coffee export revenue declined by CFA900 million from a year earlier. Coffee nevertheless accounted for only a small share of Cameroon's exports. Total exports reached CFA606.9 billion in the first quarter of 2026, down 23.6% from CFA794 billion during the same period in 2025.
